Happy New Year - 2015!

Wow, 2015! Wishing all my humans a wooferful happy new year. My new year's woofolutions are to get out more in nature... real nature... away from designed and planned nature which is also kinda of gorgeous but there is nothing like being away from all things urban in a place untouched by humans. Now I'm not 'sayin I don't like being a city dog but I'm setting an intention to see as much natural naturalness as possible in 2015!

I'm also planning on spending some quality time with my new friends I got for christmas... black alligator, blue penguin, brown kuala bear, crinkly girlfriend and postman! I'm gonna need a bigger box soon I have so many friends in my collection my toy box is overflowing! Nice problem to have eh?
Relaxing by the fire at Manning Park

Sporting my new coat - so much snow at Manning and it was cold.

Looking back on 2014 I am proud of my accomplishments... keeping my dearest guardians happy and amused... keeping healthy by maintaining my raw diet. Hah, with a few indulgent treats from all the Kitsilano west 4th vendors thrown in on my wanderings with my momma! My swimming continues to improve and I do plan on conquering more waves this summer.

Check out my new bling! Momma has been making beads out of my haircut trimmings - gotta keep my continuous mohawk in good shape - and on New Year's Day instead of doing the myriad of tasks on her list on a cherished day off work... she created my new necklace with Biscuit Beads, silver caps and chain. It's her first try at jewellery making. I think I look a little rapper'ish. There were enough beads to make herself a necklace too.

Biscuit For Mayor!

Biscuit For Mayor!

GOMES-PHILLIPS, C-Biscuit

Poodle Party

Candidate statement

Biscuit is widely known as the Poodle Rockstar of Kitsilano after years of
experience mootching around Kitsilano, exploring the Kits natural foreshore,
garnering affection amongst the citizens and bringing smiles to everyone he
encounters... since May 1,  2007.
While Biscuit has been behind, around, in and about and on the scene the city has seen a record growth in the development of 'good feelings' and general well being... a sharp decline in depressing thoughts...and has won admiration and respect amongst his peers and loved ones for his discriminating tastes. His thoughtful and careful selection of his doggy associates and doling out of wet often delicate kisses to grateful humans - he also does not suffer dog-fools gladly and has maintained a proud record of integrity. Going forward, his priorities include continuing to address availability of organic
meaty bones and cosy affordable areas to snuggle and nap, and standing up for
the local canine population by saying No! to Kinder Morgan’s proposal to put 340
more oil tankers in our waters, and Yes! to clean beaches and surf along with
affordable yummy treats and raw organic meat, and No! to destruction of the
Arbutus Corridor community gardens due to CP Rail greed and lack of vision, and
Yes! to preservation of our invaluable urban green spaces.
Prior to entering politics, Biscuit co-founded Biscuit Wearables, a socially
responsible company with his human guardian (aka his momma) that creates
hand woven and knitted wearables for stylish doggies.
Biscuit is a proud canine son of David and Deirdre and an avid fan of sleeping,
 eating, gardening and
hanging out. If you vote for Biscuit he promises many
more years of the above stated continuance.

May long weekend

*Woof* (*Sigh*)… so nice having more time to spend with my human parents on this lovely long weekend. We ventured out of our neighbourhood after finding the tide was IN at Jericho beach. We wanted to get a spa mud bath at low tide but alas we timed it wrong. We ended up taking a 'Saturday' drive through UBC which has changed so much. Tons of complexes and buildings and the inevitable retail presence has made it's mark. We were happy to see that the UBC Farm allows dogs (on leash) so that is now on our 'to do' list. It wasn't open on the weekend/s so will have to time our visit right for that too!

We discovered a new little park by the river just near the Musqueum Golf course and it was cool to watch a tugboat going super fast and creating a massive wake which we thought was going to create a marine disaster as a small speedboat attempted to navigate the watery melee that was created. All was good.

We stopped off at Thomas Snobbs and found a few potential 'must haves' for the community garden. One of the plants smells like peanuts! Yum.

Catching Up 2014

Woof woof woofy woof… wooof woooooof woof woof. Oh right… human speak… well it's been a great 2014 so far. My mom has started a great new job and I'm getting a lot of attention which is the main thing I like! I thought I would post a few pics of me to whet your appetite as I have been remiss in keeping my postings up to date. I'm so busy sleeping, eating, smelling interesting things at the beach and my neighbourhood so it's hard to keep you up to date! Enjoy, some images from a recent trip to Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast.  Lovely wet kissy licks, C-B.

Me peeking out at papa while he bbq's (Roberts Creek in March 2014)
Waiting for Mom and Dad in the car - a few rain drops didn't spoil our day (Roberts Creek, March 2014)
Where are they?! (FYI - best video store in B.C. at Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast)
On the deck above the sea… momma is taking a snap from the peek-a-boo secret passageway down to the beach!
Combo tussie-mussies from the garden and IGA!

Breaking News - Name Change Announcement!

I am proud to announce that I am changing my name from Coco-Biscuit... to C-Biscuit.
Moving ahead... the name change is a good thing

The name change is due to the significant evidence and development of my adult personality and behaviour which now has entered a more mature phase of my life - and what one could call the 'settling into' the legacy of why I was named 'Biscuit'  in the first place.
Pondering the future...prior to my decision
My parents were inspired by the wonderful character and real life Sea Biscuit of the equine fame. It has become evident that I truly am a lot like Sea Biscuit the famous champion thoroughbred race horse. I like to sleep a lot... I'm pretty ornery most of the time... but also have a heart of gold and give out a ton of love and affection. Like Sea Biscuit - I'm also kinda undersized for my breed... but big on personality! Oh, and I also like to eat and eat and eat and eat.
Yes, I still have all the cute and loveable traits that everyone has come to know and cherish... don't worry.

The name change to C-Biscuit should also be perceived as an acknowledgement of the strengthening of my purpose in life. The 'Coco' part of my name was always a bit too girly for me anyways!
I will continue to be the little darling that I am... however please note that my blog address on the world wide internets has been changed to:
Cee-Biscuit.blogspot.ca
Much love and wet lick kisses. C-Biscuit (formerly known as the growly-pants Coco-Biscuit).

Tantramar - good times

Got to spend time at one of my all time favourite places in February - thanks to the generosity of my godmama Andree.

I have been going to the Tant since I was little so it's sort of like going to our own private retreat... familiar and wonderful with so many memories plus the making of new ones - all centered around the glorious big fire! Shhhhh don't tell anybody about how many logs my papa burned to keep the hearth and our hearts warm and toasty. I kind of lost count! I think my family and I all agree that having a great big ginormous open fire that you can see right through into the bedroom is... well... priceless. Is it wrong that a fire makes us so happy?

My mama was sick but still managed to enjoy herself - how could she not with the combination of me, papa and dearest Andree for company. She got to work on a few knitting projects, mooch around in Lady Minto (thrift store) and Transitions (thrift store) with her mooch'in friend Andree and just hang out and gab. We even managed to pull ourselves away from the fire for a couple of walks in the great outdoors.

We had our good friends Janice and James over for dinner too - and feasted on a barbecued moose rib roast. I got some leftovers!

On the way back we went via Victoria so got to have a mooch around there too - my first time in the capital. I like it there. I really like Beacon Hill and Oak Bay road along the beach too.
Just made it onto the ferry!
